Rattan Christmas Tree

A Christmas tree made of rattan I found hidden under the shadow in the corner of a building at Pesona Bambu Hotel in Lembang. I like how the shadows interplayed with the shapes and textures of the tree.

This is my last post for the year 2013. Happy New Year to you who is celebrating it.

Music-Playing Ants

Music-playing ants sculptures at Pesona Bambu Hotel in Lembang, a resort area in the northern hills of Bandung. I can only guess that the hotel's management has chosen these sculptures because ants are known as a social insects whose complex labor division and ability to solve problems have long become our inspiration. Ants are a symbol of hard and smart communal working ethic.

Fruiting Mango

The mango tree at the backyard has finally born its first fruits. They are not many, but they look good and healthy. The tree flowered before, but the flowers failed to become mature fruit. Small young mangoes fell to the ground because the weather was not favorable. This mango season it looks like we're going to enjoy some sweet and delicious mangoes from our own garden.

View From The Observation Deck of Mt. Tangkuban Perahu

Here is the northeastward view from one of the two observation decks at Mt. Tangkuban Perahu. The Kawah Ratu (Queen Crater) in the previous post is on your left side. On a clear day like this the view is marvellous.
