Antique Honda

I spotted this old (antique?) Honda motorcycle in front of a shop on Jalan ABC (street). At first I thought it was from the mid 70s. Then I searched in the internet and learned that this model - called Honda S90 - is from the late 1960s. Wow, that's about 50 years old! And it's still running.

In the course of my googling, I also found that there are quite a number of antique motorbike communities and workshops here. One of them is even quite close to where I live.

Street Documentary: Pasar Baru and Jalan ABC Junction

The corner of ABC Street and Otto Iskandardinata Street near Pasar Baru (New Market).

Being the oldest and most popular commercial area, Pasar Baru and the adjecent streets are among the most crowded areas in the city. Different kinds of things are sold here: in the market, in shops, and (yes) on the pavements/sidewalks.

As I said in one of my previous posts, Jalan ABC (ABC street) is Bandung's primary electronic market.

Jalan ABC: Bandung's Electronic Market

Jalan ABC, or ABC street, is Bandung's prime electronic market. Lining this street that connects Jalan Otto Iskandar Dinata (Otista) and Jalan Banceuy in the center of the city are shops that specilize in selling electronic goods and gadgets. Bandung's people as well as visitors to this city like to go here to shop for electronic goods and gadgets because their prices are considered lower than in any other shops in other parts of the city and because they can bargain/negotiate the price.

Jalan ABC electronic market had existed long before shopping malls specializing in electronic goods, such as Bandung Electronic Center (BEC) on Jalan Purnawarman and Bimall on Jalan Naripan were opened.

You may want to consider visiting this market next time you visit Bandung.
