Young Street, Bandung

Several questions thus raised when I saw this:

- What would be the opposite of this street? And is there such a street?
- Why is youth (young people, the condition of being young) often associated with shopping, fun, and hip?
- Etc., etc.

This street, by the way, is located at Ciwalk (Cihampelas Walk), Bandung.

  1. Does it allow those people 'young at heart' to join the crowd here? He, He, I'm one!

  2. Good observations. I think every city has the old historic part of the City. I really like your skywatch photo yesterday. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the glass Chihuly art on my website. I put a new one up today.

  5. They associate shopping with people who get enough money to spend, I guess.
In our country, it would be associated to an older category whose purchasing power is higher.
    Nothing is done randomly.

  6. Advertisers target and market to young people as they feel they spend the most money shopping..

  7. Interesting points raised. Also interesting to note that
around the world the great leveller of youth seems to be retail therapy.

  8. Most of us like to be associated with youth, energy, chic, beauty, fun and everything nice... So I suppose "Young Street" is good for marketing strategy :)
