My World Tuesday: Durian Season

Picking up on my yesterday's post about tropical fruit season, durian is also beginning to appear. It's not durian peak season yet on Java island so we don't see many of it here at this time of the year, but a friend of mine on the island of Kalimatan says that it is there.

Today's post is Bandung Daily Photo's participation in My World Tuesday meme. Please check out other participants' posts by following the link.

Durian, a strange looking fruit. New to me. I enjoyed your link, where it says that the durian is banned from public transportation in some cities because of its smell.

Nice how they put the little vehicle to double use.

Thanks for your mango-ripening advice. In a bag of rice?? That's one I would never have thought of. :)

I have never seen Durian before. It is wonderful to learn from someone so far away - but so close (on the internet). Thanks for sharing your pictures and story.

Gosh, it would be fun to try one of those durians! How do you use them?

Some of my friends absolutely love durian. I can only take it as soft candies. And man, the smell is so strong!

Durians are not really to my taste, but I at least have tried them. They are quite custardy in texture, but the smell is off putting!
