Forever Friends

Text and picture by Eki Qushay Akhwan

What's a friend? What's a friendship? Can time and distance or fate really separate friends and end friendship?

This scupture at the main plaza of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) is entitled "Sekali Teman, Selamanya Teman" (Once a friend, forever a friend). It was dedicated by its 1970's alumi.

To ITB's alumni, friendship and cameraderie begin they day they become students, and they last forever!

Great angle shot of this sculpture. I think you are right about friends made in college, they last forever and always have a certain place in one's heart.

What a great sculpture. I really like your photo capturing it as if it's lifting into the sky. Thanks for pointing me to your post. Great blog - it's interesting for me because so much is similar to California (water parks, university buildings, art sales) and yet it's also very different.

Nice sculpture.

Thanks for visiting my blog and your very nice comment. To answer your question, I've been living in Stavanger for 5.5 years.

Oh, my question was about Bandung Water Park not the campus center but thanks anyway for the info.
Yes, I lived in Bandung before married.

Beautiful sentiments. Tis is an excellent photo, the harsh metal against the glorious blue sky was a 5 for me.
